Robert “DJ Big Rob” Morris has always had a passion for music and the messages therein. A native of Buffalo, NY, DJ Big Rob realized that passion in 2007 when a friend, who recognized a special drive and talent within him, entered Big Rob into his very first DJ Battle. That competition ignited an enduring love for the art of DJ’ing and from there Big Rob began to build relationships within the college scene in Upstate New York, thus earning the nickname, “The Big Man on Campus”. It was then that his journey began. DJ Big Rob began a heavy rotation within the college scene, traveling from city to city inciting campus parties. Soon after, he released the first of a series of mixtapes entitled “The Fix” which effectively helped to spread the word of his emerging sound. Rapidly growing in popularity, it was not long before Big Rob was given the opportunity to take his career to the next level. His first opportunity came in late 2010 when he began working in broadcast radio. From hosting his own weekly show “The Sunday Night Fix” on 1.FM Jamz, to being a recurring guest DJ on 91.3-FM WBNY’s “Da B Side”, DJ Big Rob’s talents were reaching across the state of New York. Due to the overall popularity of those shows, in 2013, he earned a show in his hometown on 93.7FM WBLK, the #1 urban radio station, entitled “The Big Show”, which is currently still on the air. Encompassing nearly every genre of music, DJ Big Rob’s musical taste has continued to expand, ranging from Hip Hop, R&B, EDM, Latin, Club, Reggae, and Soca infused with a touch of Turntablism. Of what was perceivably his most accomplished partnership, he was selected as a member of the Upstate New York Ciroc Boys in 2014, charged with promoting the brand in the nightlife and via social media platforms as an ambassador across the state. Big Rob has been featured in several local and national publications including Hip Hop Weekly magazine, where he was spotlighted as one of their featured DJs. DJ Big Rob’s character and resiliency has allowed him to thrive within the industry creating several strong relationships and expanding them.
